10,000 times 10,000

4 May

I’ve been singing 10,000 Reasons all day since entering the lyrics into the computer for tomorrow’s service.

This probably never happens to you, but I often caught by the technical stuff on Sunday. I DO worship God, but sometimes it’s through a busy-ness fog that never quite becomes the abandoned heart I want to give to Him.

Well, alone in the worship center today I sang my heart and lungs out – singing a few of the 10,00o reasons He deserves my praise. No chord progression or stage lights to think about. No one asking about the timing of the offering or looking at the media booth to see why the video isn’t playing. (Why do people DO that? Seriously, it’s hard enough to make stubborn technology work without an audience!)

Just me and Him.

Ready for Sunday

Using a list (like the ones in the song) helps me praise Him. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Use the alphabet and name a reason you love God, or list one of His attributes.

  • God you are Always there, Better than life, Concerned for me….
  • Father I praise you for you are Almighty God, you are Beautiful, Christ Messiah…

Praise lists are also through the Psalms: Psalm 136 and Psalm 145 are examples.

Start listing what you appreciate about God. I guarantee you will be ready for tomorrow!
